Privacy
WARDOGS HQ is a fan-made companion for WARDOGS. It is free, it sells nothing, and it does not sell or share your data with anyone for advertising.
This website
The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for a limited time to run the service.
The site carries a Google Ads measurement tag so we can tell whether a visit to the download page came from an ad. The tag is set to deny advertising cookies, ad personalisation and analytics storage for every visitor. No advertising cookie is set and no profile is built. Google receives the page address and a cookieless ping. You can block the tag with any content blocker without affecting the site.
No other analytics or tracking runs on the site.
Signing in
Signing in with Steam uses Steam's own sign-in page. We receive your public Steam ID, display name and avatar, and we keep a session so you stay signed in. We never see your Steam password.
Linking Discord stores the Discord account ID needed to create a voice channel for your room. Both links can be removed from the Account page.
What the service stores
- Loadouts you save to your account, and the ones you choose to publish. Publishing is opt-in per loadout, and anything published can be unpublished or deleted.
- War room activity while a room is open: markers, requests, chat and who is present. Rooms are shared with the people you give the code to.
- Find Squad posts you create, until you delete them.
- If you connect your game account in the desktop app, a read-only snapshot of your account stats so the app can show them. Disconnecting removes it.
- An encrypted game token for that connection, so the app can keep reading your snapshot without asking Steam again each time. It is removed when you unlink or sign out; if that removal fails the first time, it is retried.
- Squad voice servers you add: the TeamSpeak API key or Matrix bot token, stored sealed and never shown back to you, your Matrix ID if you add one, and your preferred voice choice. Removing a server deletes these and the channels it created; a channel the service could not reach at that moment can be left behind on the server itself.
The desktop app
Settings, drafts and the map cache stay on your computer. Your sign-in is stored protected by Windows and removed completely when you sign out. The app checks for updates by requesting a small file from our service; nothing about you is sent with that request.
Removing your data
Unpublish or delete loadouts from My Loadouts, delete Find Squad posts you made, and sign out to end your session. To have an account and everything tied to it removed, ask in the Discord and it will be done by hand.
